A Message to Chevron Retirees

Chevron Public Affairs' communications with retirees are changing. Many of these changes were previewed and discussed at the Chevron Retirees Association's annual meeting in Houston this past May.

The Chevron/Gulf Retirees Web site has been designed to provide you with online publication of the ENCORE newsletter, free of the space limitations imposed by a four-page print piece. The Web version of ENCORE includes complete "In Memoriam" listings, a feature story excerpted from Chevron Now magazine and, for your convenience, a link (at the top right) to Chevron's external Web site.

This and more in the August 1999 ENCORE:

"It seems we can't figure out how to drill a dry hole out there." At the Association's annual Meeting in Houston, Chevron Chairman Ken Derr's comments on the company's bright prospects and its difficulties -- a report by News Editor Walt Roessing. 9908encore_derr_a.jpg (3807 bytes)

After two years as CRA president, Don Ostrom (at left) passes the baton to W. Roy Adams. Ostrom pens a "President's Letter" that includes news, reflections and thanks.

It's a first! -- For the first time in CRA history, a Gulf retiree has been elected as CRA president. W. Roy Adams (at right), the new leader of the Association, is no newcomer, however.  He's been active in the Association for years and is well prepared for his new role.

And ...

in a feature story from the June/July 1999 issue of Chevron Now, writer Nancy Boas takes a look at Chevron's La Habra, Calif., location as scientists, equipment and their priceless art are readied for a move to the company's exploration and production headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area.
